Planting and Harvesting
Agricultural professions
Professions fall into three different activities, harvesting and cultivation concern interaction with the environment (activities 1).
Here is a list of the principal professions:
- Forestry (trees)
- Agriculture (cereals, vegetables)
- Herbery (herbs and flowers)
One and one make a pair
All professions which involve interaction with the ecosystem consist of two processes:
- Removing the resource from its environment (harvesting)
- Adding a resource to the environment (cultivation)
For example, Foresters will be able to:
- Cut Gladnut Wood
- Replant Knuts and grow Gladnut Trees
These two actions will increase your experience, so it is just as advantageous to harvest as it is to plant resources.
All resources that may be planted (grain, fruit) and harvested require a minimum level in the associated profession. The higher your level is, the less experience you will gain with lower-level resources.
Harvesting

Harvesting in Wakfu is relatively straight-forward - all you need to get started is the right tool and the required character level.
The tools available may vary in quality and in:
- Time taken to harvest
- Quantity harvested
- Character level requirement
- Experience gained
Quantity of resources
The quantity of resources you harvest will depend on the quality of the earth in which the resource was planted and also on its surrounding environment (other plants, animals, the climate).
Planting
In general, planting requires far fewer tools than harvesting.
If you have a seed or a fruit you can simply plant it in the earth. The plant will grow or not according to the environment and your skill in the associated profession.
Bumper harvest!
There are certain steps you can take to maximise your harvest. You can either use a special "Water" emote, so long as you have a watering can in your hand, or you can have an alchemist make some fertilizer. These two actions will optimise the living environment and will improve your harvest.
When you are ready to plant, all available cells will be displayed in a range of colors which indicate the fertility of the cells for the resource you wish to plant.
Furrow planting
If you have a lot of seeds, you can repeat your action many times. When you have planted once, you can continue planting in a furrow, with the next cell to be planted highlighted in white. You can stop planting, simply by right clicking.
